The Elmhurst Group of companies is a 36-year-old Pittsburgh-based organization that invests in commercial real estate and operating businesses. Elmhurst's real estate holdings include 30 buildings on 18 sites, totaling more than 2.5 million square feet of office, distribution, flex space and a hotel, all in Western Pennsylvania.

Investments have also been made in the retail, medical, hospitality, oil and gas, and electronic security industries. Specifically, Elmhurst invested in and is an owner in ADS Security, Metis Secure and Prospera Hospitality. ADS Security is based in Nashville, Tennessee. ADS provides electronic security services to commercial, governmental and residential customers in the Southeastern United States. Metis Secure, based in Oakmont, PA, provides a state-of-the-art mass notification product for universities and corporate campuses. Prospera manages 16 hotels across the U.S.

The president of Elmhurst is William E. Hunt, who has been with the firm since 1984. Elmhurst employs over 200 people.
